First time I've tried to deploy a VB.net program.

(1) Created a folder on my website.
(2) VB.NET Build > Publish and selected the sites folder

(3) Received an error about frontpage extensions not installed.

(4) Searched Lunarpages and discovered that on Cpanel there was a simple
install/uninstall procedure, so I INSTALLED.

Noticed fine print after doing this that had all sorts of warnings and now my site gives an "internal server error" in my browser.

Something about the ht.access file?

It may just be coincidence -- in 4 years I've never had a server problem with lunarpages, I install this frontpage stuff and the site isn't there.

Guy at LP says the server is down.

Maybe try again later on but publish the setup program to your local computer then upload it to your website.

Lunarpages was full of it -- the server wasn't down and it did indeed turn out to be a problem where they had to recode the ht.access file

I wish I knew why.

All because I had to install these frontpage extensions to upload my VB.NET app -- lost my site for 5 hours because of it. ?
