Popup Menu's

Please can any body tell me how to add a gradient to a popup menu (just like the Windows XX on the start menu) - I require to add the gradient down the left side and then put some text over it.

You would need to create another control for it, or use a PictureBox. The startmenu uses seperate controls for the Menu and the basebar (the part where the gradient is).
