F# anyone?
I'm just getting into F# and I'm sure many others will be in time too. Should we add an F# forum to the .NET section?

Re: F# anyone?
As wth any other of the added forums, if there is enough of a demand for it then it could be added. Have any stats on thread/post counts for it? I'd be interested to see if anyone is using it.

Re: F# anyone?
I guess it will only be those who are using the VS2010 beta that will be using it and certainly not all of them. I think the more visibility it's afforded the better because I think it will be a very useful and powerful tool. Unfortunately though, I think a lot of people will avoid it because it's so unlike VB and C# and, in some ways, it feels like stepping back 10 years. I guess the only problem is that, with no dedicated forum, F# questions may just not get asked. I suppose I'll just have to watch Other Languages.

If others post up in this thread we can see what kind of demand there would be for F#

I haven't delved too deeply but the first two points I've noticed where F# excels in doing a lot with little code is recursion and pattern matching.

The longer version of what I said is that we are, as our name states, a VB forum, and while that obviously hasn´t precluded us from adding non-VB sub-forums we only do so when there is a large demand for them and sometimes not even then.

Re: F# anyone?
F# has potential as as functional language. It is interesting to see how LINQ and Functional languages are similar. I don't believe there are enough questions on F# today, but this is one we will keep our eyes on and if questions start happening, I'll be open to creating a forum area for it.
To be honest, I'd expect more question on F# over at Codeguru before here....
Brad!
