i was just wondering what peoples favourites drinks are, they can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic if you like, we all know that Ians favourite is Sherry ;)
my favourite alcoholic drink is a good pint of Guinness, and non-alcoholic is Ribena (not the tooth kind stuff, that tastes like cat pee)

I like Bitter, especially 80 Shilling and John Smiths, Vodka in small doses, and pretty much every soft drink on the market! I hate lager, though....and fosters...and millers...Ahem.

we have a cat, who likes to pee everywhere but where she is meant to, and makes a horrible smell, and Ribena tooth kind reminds me of this smell :)

I'm not too sure about stella but in the summer, if I'm having lager, it'd be a Hoegarden anyday. There's a lager with flavour.
Theakston's XB is a nice drink but it's not a patch on Cornish Ale.
The beer I did like last time I was up your way (Poynton) was Robbie's.

As they say in the ad... "True" except when there's something better on offer such as Theakstons.
Fried Egg - did you mean Boddingtons or Robinsons ?

Boddingtons is nice aswell as John Smiths.
Stella, Kronenbourg, Red Stripe, Guinness, Vodka & lime (mmmm), nice full bodied red wine (or perhaps dry white at a pinch), rum & coke, Jack Daniels,
I like playing about with sickly cocktails - try malibu & baileys, or tia maria and orange juice (trust me)
I'd like to drink more water, but I cant stand it. Im going to look like a raisin when i die. :D

For the past 3 weeks, I've been starting with 1 pint of guiness as soon as we hit the 1st pub (or if I get to the pub at lunchtimes maybe this will will be more :D).
I then move onto Southern Comforts  - did go off them for a little while.
Then onto sidekicks - gotta be my fav at the moment.
Not everywhere gets these, but they are vodka shots in a clear plastic container (kinda like the camera film containers) & have a bright coloured lid dependant ofn the flavor -
sour apple
sour vanilla
sour grapefruit
sour lemon
Delicious ! The containers sort of stick together too like the old "sticklebricks" & stack on top of one another - been getting a nice collection recently ! :)

For all you living in the UK:
Have you ever tried absinth?
I've read that it's legal there . A friend of mine had a copy of Bizarre magazine at his house and I happened upon an article about absinth. It sounds pretty scary.

Absinthe is 70% proof, and has been the downfall of various alcoholics in the past. Been around for bloody ages.

That's right, Active. My avatar does look scary - that's the point.
Anyway, absinth is supposed to be a very strong, hallucinigenic booze. It's what Van Gogh was drunk on when he cut off his ear and mailed it to his girlfriend.

So What Happened to the Girl Friend ?
Did she had absinth or died in horror ?

He went insane (he was mentally ill to begin with) and was institutionalized and she dumped him.
Weird, huh?

no it's not a home brew. Pete's is a company I think.
They also makes a Pete's Summer Brew and a Pete's Wicked Ale . . . All of which are very good

what do you mean, I like sherry.
(Runs and hide's with a botlle of harvey's bristol cream)
Serriously, I absolutley love Cafferey's and Southern Comfort, they are normally all I drink, also slightly parshal to a good bitter

I've seen you clutching your Bristol Cream, though you're normally holding it in a brown paper bag and sat on a park bench with three days of stubble.
I like either a pint of lager (anything will do, but I'm partial to Carlsberg or K1664), the Oldham Cocktail (which is normally a wild and unpredictable number of random alcopops of all sorts of funny colours, mixed up in your stomach as the night progresses) or one of Behemoth's infamous Vodka Jellies!!
Roooaaarrrggghh!
Vodka jelly...only trouble is the time it takes to make...!

Vodka Jelly? Is that like a Jello shot? Either way, it sounds good.
zmerlinz
Mar 3rd, 2001, 04:39 AM
Yeah they are, and they are very nice
buy loads of packets of jelly (or jello to our friends across the pond), melt them up in a pan and then use vodka instead of water to set them (make sure the jellys not to hot when you put the vodka in or all the alcohol evaporates out of it. leave it to set, then eat it when ready.
It slowly gets you really steaming, and you're less likely to throw up.

We call those jello shots over here......nice stuff!!!
I believe it's supposed to be quite thin so you can drink it, but I tend to make it solid, and then eat it with a spoon. It's great, cos you can have a drink with it (haha!)
