Hi everyone.
My name is Jamie. And i have come up with an idea. and i want to know if anyone wants to partner up with me and create a business and a piece of software.

The whole idea is to allow people to watch Live tv and listen to radio all in one. The radio side is complete how ever the tv side isnt. I was thinking getting our own TV Hardware cards manufactured (I will pay for that) Then sell a bundle pack the card and software and earn a profit. What ever is made i will slit half with you. NO joking, no lies, pure seriousness.

I'm pretty sure stuff like this is already out there.
I remember reading somwhere (I dont remember where, but google should) you can buy USB devices that can capture TV signals.
I'm pretty sure you can also buy devices alike, for cable channels (the decoder is built in iirc)
Forgive me if i'm wrong, but i'm sure what you're describing already exists.

Yes it does already exist! several companys have this. But im aiming to build the ultimate multimedia center.

Not just live tv. But radio streaming, podcasts. CD's , DVD's the whole lot. Stream ripper.

Not really a terrible idea. It'll take ages to code (at least, it seems to me like it will) but no doubt it'll pay off. My suggestion, though, is to buy TV-tuner cards and package them to start you off, and if necessary begin manufacturing your own. Check newegg.com, they have some pretty awesome hardware deals.
I'm not too amazing at this stuff, so all I can do is wish you luck!

Hey mate! thanks for replying! Ya see i have been talking to chinese manufacturers and they are starting work on a prototype. There making a card that will work for any tv software. that way it aint got to be programmed in vb to just work with mine e.t.c
The whole idea im making is a multimedia center. Where it has like Movie database , TV , live recordings, radio , podcasting , games the entire lot! and then sell it as a package. Like headphones, mic , And the tv card and software and speakers e.t.c or just stand alone package with just the card. Ive done most of the coding. just not the tv part yet as im waiting on the hardware to be made (prototype)

I have that exact thing attached to my computer as we speak. It is manufactured by ATI.

It plugs into usb and is an antenna. It can pick up digitally broadcast hd tv stations, radio, it plays DVD's, and it may play music (I use winamp instead of it though).

Not a bad idea, but ATI definitely beat you to the punch on this one.

I'm constantly coming up with new ideas for programs (stuff like this), and would like to work with someone. If you think of anything else, drop me a line on here.

The unique thing about my multimedia center compare to any other like ATI
is

Mine contains Blogs e.t.c and is connected to a social network site im building. You can write blogs e.t.c and it will then show everyones blogs on the app. You can record and edit your own podcast and then upload it straight to the network and it will then be shown on the app for people to listen to.

It does contain the dvd player, Radio , tv aswell though. I was hoping to had live webcam streaming so if people want to create their own show. they stream their webcam then people using the application will see a list of people's shows. That part i dont know how to do lol.


At the moment my app has Internet TV streams, Radio , Podcasts , Blogs , DVD Player , Web Browser ,

They are all the things ive built for it so far. Even if i cant get it to play normal tv with an antenna. i can leave that bit out in this version. But if you want to help do this wiith me let me know.

Also this plays ONLINE radio stations aswell. Not just national station, It also has it so you can download it free but every 3 - 7 minuites the radio/podcast stops playing and then an advert from my server automaticly plays and disables everything untill the 29 second ad is complete. Ive made it so when you ad a serial key then it removes all ads. The reason i have the ads there is so it annoys people enough to buy a serial key e.t.c
