can i create certain musical tones in vb on the press of any particular key like when i press space bar or character i or y etc some different tones of different frequency will be generated.

You'll need to initialize a Midi channel and specify the MIDI mapper and instrument(s) you will play. Then you must send the tone and volume info and play it. (don't ask me how to do this!!!)
