barrk

NAME: "Expecteria Trouserius" (Trouser Snake)
LOCATION: Throughout the world
DESCRIPTION: One-eyed, with mushroom-shaped head (other types come with
extra
layers of skin). Varying from pink to black. Fang-less with a highly
venomous
spit. (Spit can reach distances up to 2-3 feet) Size varies from 3 to 12
inches, depending on its mood & subspecies.
SYMPTOMS: This snake attacks mainly women in the lower front abdomen,
resulting in an inconspicuous bump. Then a severe swelling followed by
excruciating pain after nine months. The attack is not usually fatal.
Beware:
It has been known to attack men in the rear lower abdomen!
HABITAT: Usually found in bedrooms, but has been known to appear in the
most
unusual places.
ANTIDOTE: Various types of vaccine available for women. However, once the
venom is injected into the body only drastic measures will ensure complete
recovery. There is no known antidote for men.
WHAT TO DO WHEN ATTACKED: Suck The Wound - This method is the most popular
with the victim, but so far has not been reported to have led to any
success.
CONCLUSION: This snake, although it is very aggressive and active, is not
necessarily a vermin, and treated with the right respect, makes a wonderful
pet.

Oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I didn't forget......
You know what they say about people looking like their pets.....I sure hope your pet snake doesn't look like you........
I know that was mean and I'm sorry but you were practically begging for it weren't you???
Why would it matter if it looked like me?
Most of it's use is going to be in the dark anyway... ;)
barrk
Feb 21st, 2001, 05:47 PM

Yes, I've trained it well... ;)
barrk
Feb 21st, 2001, 05:56 PM
Practice DOES make perfect then, Dennis?
I don't know.... nobody has seen my pet do any tricks yet.... I've been trying to convince them that they'll enjoy it... but they don't seem to think so...
barrk
Feb 21st, 2001, 06:00 PM
Don't be in a hurry....the more mature your pet is the more spectators will be impressed by it's tricks! It will prove to be a much longer show. Also things can go deadly wrong if the pet owner doesn't ensure the safety of it's pet and the spectators!
That's my final word for the day! See you tomorrow!
Keep your pet safe until then!
Yea... my pet will always have a muzzle when it performs..

You'd better order, I don't speak French
We had a very hard time stopping laughing on the way home ;D
(in case anyone is wondering why that's funny, kebabs originate from Turkey/Greece and the guys in the shop are all Turkish)

I was there 90-94. I did maths and physics then droped the physics.
What did you study?
Do you remember when they refurbished the bar in the old union? They got rid of the old brown chairs and sricky carpet and turned it into a wine bar sort of place. It was sacriledge. I went back last year to have a look around and it's gone all posh.

Trop Med was good for food too. They had a proper chef who did mean chillis and curries.
As for leaving your door open ... it IS Liverpool we're talking about. A friend left her door open when she was moving her stuff into a shared house and a thief walked in (they thought it was a housemate's boyfriend of the week) and cleared the place out. The next term the same things happened.
I miss all that cheap beer though.

We brits have a habit of taking a foodstuff to a new level of status. Curries are (un)officially our national dish. Noone has fish and chips after beer any more - it a kebeb. As for trying one, I could Fedex one over to you...
The taste really good in the morning, microwaved, especially after a heavy night on the suace...

Winter Warmer is a bitter (as is Badger's Scrotum) - Real Ale (as It is more commonly know to people who nurture beards and wear sandals) takes very much like 7-day old milk...

For Barrk's info I guess kebabs come in two main sorts -
Shish Kebabs that are relatively healthy looking cubes of meat/onion/pepper on a skewer cooked over an open flame
OR
Doner kebabs (Donor kebabs we used to call them) are more like a dog on a stick - minced scraps, fat, gristle, ears, trouser-snakes, compressed into a barrel of amorphous white streaked brown which is grilled on a rotating spit with sections cut off and placed (with fiery pepper sauce) in a bit of unleven bread.
I guess we are all thinking of the latter here (yum yum!)

I'll show her it. She is going to ask it its sub-orbital I'm sure - since she is very keen on the X-15 I took the to Duxford and showed her the Blue Steel missile under the Vulcan there (best we can do over here I'm afraid). She looked at it for a couple of minutes and then asked if it could go into space. She was most dissapointed that it could not! (With this kid she was willing to accept that the meat in her dinner was fuel but the only way I could get her to eat her peas was to say that they are "oxidiser")
Anyway have to go - the kids are telling me its time for Robot Wars and that there is Chilli for dinner (topical!!)!

How much do threadstoppers get paid ?
barrk
Feb 23rd, 2001, 03:00 PM
Not as much as threadstarters but more than a piece of thread.
Pix
Feb 23rd, 2001, 03:03 PM
Never mind....I did start one thread though
barrk
Feb 23rd, 2001, 03:05 PM
Good for you! Fun isn't it???
parksie
Feb 23rd, 2001, 03:06 PM
Not as fun as multithreading :)
Make of that what you will :p
Pix
Feb 23rd, 2001, 03:07 PM
Yep :)
barrk

Bloody hell! That's an exact bloody copy of the Yeovil kebab shop... Except the burgers and the half-chickens are the other way around.
Personally, I favour kofte kebabs, with chilli & thousand island. *Sigh* I'm not home for weeks now though so I won't be getting a decent kebab til then... the one Guildford kebab shop is bloody awful.
Gaffer
Feb 23rd, 2001, 04:04 PM
I love the romantic intro they give for the shop location:
"Opposite the Sorting office, under the bridge by the railway station, you'll find Efes "
Reminds me of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe...
"Aslan, a frozen Kebab please..."

Harry, your Avatar should have a nice pink shirt like mine...
Your head looks a little.... disjointed...
Its disconcerting.
Ehhh... I don't think that big meat stick on the home page(on the left) is going to make people want to eat a kabab.. it kind of looks like something else :o
Gaffer
Feb 23rd, 2001, 04:08 PM
dennis!!!!!
(actually, don't you think the picture of the doner below it looks like something else also?)
Badly packed kebab anyone?

I generally refer to it as the roasted elephant's leg. I don't know what you're thinking about Dennis, I mean look at the size of it.
Whoever's local kebab shop that is is getting ripped off - it's £1 for chips in Yeovil
I'd also like to just diss the Guildford kebab shop one more time - it's the only kebab shop I've ever walked into and ordered a doner kebab and they said they'd run out. I was stunned to say the least. What stunned me even more was the fact that the guy behind him was clearly cutting meat (I think it's meat) from a rather gangly-looking roasted elephant's leg. What kind of kebab shop runs out of doner kebabs? Madness.

Oh yeah - Gaffer, it was hard enough drawing that masterpiece to the left, I'm not gonna press my luck with a lovely pink shirt as modelled by your good self. Well your self anyway.

Other than that I am fine...
So what are you up to?

So Barrk,
Are you an Anime fan?
Gaffer
Feb 26th, 2001, 10:19 AM
Wellll, the problem with UK food is that we are restricted to Kebabs, burgers and Fish & Chips. In NY, there is always something more delicious in the deli to fill my belly.
OK, OK, the real reason is because I didn't have 10 pints of strong lager beforehand.
I will have one this afternoon, and give you a report....
barrk
Feb 26th, 2001, 10:24 AM
Sounds good...let me know how closely it resembles kebabs....if at all.
Chris...not a big anime fan...a friend of mine...my adopted e-son set my avatari up for me!

Musing on her present and past professions as "dominant/sadomasichism
fantasy fulfiller" and dental hygienist, Sybil said, "I couldn't really
understand why I wanted to be a dental hygienist, but years later, after
being in the SM world a long time, I figured it out: I'm in uniform,

things to them for their own good. This is so ME."

A man is talking to his wife when he mentions that there's a "Big Dick"
contest at one of the bars in town and the prize for the winner is $1000.
"Oh, honey," she exclaims, "I don't want you taking that thing
out in public!"
"But baby," he says, "$1000 is a lot of money."
"I don't care!" she says, stamping her foot. "I don't want you
showing that thing to everybody."
And the subject isn't mentioned again, until the following evening
when he hands her $1000.
"Did you enter the contest, even after I told you I didn't want
you to?" she asks.
"Please forgive me, turtle dove," he says. "I thought we could use
the money."
"You mean you took that thing out for everybody to see?" she says,
tears welling up in her eyes.
"Only enough to win, honey, only enough to win."
