    Will Google sue me ?

Hello and Merry Christmas to all !
i have developed an application that i want to distribute via the web.
One feature of this application uses Google Translate website , without
the programming api, in order to translate text.
I use a simple webbrowser control , post the request and parse the results
, for a list of text to be translated ,every 4 seconds.
The application works ok because i do not send the requests too quickly and i do not get the screen from Google that says that too many requests have been done in too little time.
The problem is that this application is commercial and i want to distribute it via the internet.
Do you think that Google will get annoyed and sue me because i do not use
their programming api but instead use the free webbrowser control to handle my requests ?

    Thanks !
    Alex

No! However, state that the program accesses the Google translation site by sending the messages to it.

I don't think they would, just think what changes you would have to adopt if the Google translate service were to change, your parser would no longer work!>+!MDDJ

How much does the API cost? While im sure google will not mind your current service it looks very bad when an application breaks due to a change in service as ILMV has stated.

Re: Will Google sue me ?

What you're doing is bad. If your application gets enough hits Google can completely block its access and then all of your customers are screwed out of a feature you promised them.

I would suggest looking at the Google Ajax Language API. It's free. It's faster than what you're currently doing and it's safer for your customers. Since this is an Ajax API you may need to find another interface to it if you're building a Windows application but I believe those are available (there is an interface available for Java that you could probably take apart and implement in C#).

Another option if you're building a Windows application is to find a component and buy it that can translate text for you. This way your customer isn't constantly accessing the Internet just to translate things.
