I have created an instant message application but we have to enter in the other persons ip address manually, which is a bit of a fanny on coz we have to use ICQ to send each other our ip's.
Is there anyway I can get both instances to search for the others IP so that they connection automatically.
I have thought about a database on a homepage, which the application downloads using ftp, alters its ip and then uploads the file again. Then the other instance does the same but also reads the database to find an ip number and uses it automatically. Is there an easier way of doing this.
Does anyone know the code that would displace my IP address in a textbox, with having to use the IPCONFIG command in dos.
Thanks
