    I'm using the system color.
    This object don't have Refresh method!

    This is a long shot, but: try the form's refresh method, or use sstab1.object.refresh...
    I tried to get the behaviour you described but cannot get the sstab to not repaint itself (maybe i don't do the same thing you do, i change the window color through desktop setting by hand...)
