Programmable single USB Button
I'm searching for a single programmable usb button that i could catch when it is pressed and do what i need to do in my application. these are pretty close to what i mean, but im not sure if they are programmable. it seems like they might just be able to open up a website. any info anyone has i would really appreciate. Thanks

Re: Programmable single USB Button
Thanks for the answer,
I mean having a single USB button than can do something similar to the custom key of a keyboard. Like ' Print, Open a specific web site, etc...
Cheers !

Re: Programmable single USB Button
Not really, because you can just program it to open a Website.
I would like, exemple, to be abble to have one that play a sound, and an other one a specific sound, and an other than can print a specific document...

Sorry for raising the dead here but I have the same question and this thread never saw a resolution.
Does anyone know of anything that may work? Or maybe some alternative? Google results are scarce at best.

Re: Programmable single USB Button
There are some cheapo products like this that are meant as marketing materials, and inject something like WinKey-R {some URL} Enter into the keyboard stream to open a Web site. Probably not programmable.
Next up in price are USB numeric pads, mostly just the same as pressing numeric pad keys on a regular keyboard though.
Then there are numeric pads with one or two extra "programmable" keys.
Then there are fully programmable keypads with a grid of 8 to 16 keys, or a "stick" of 10 to 12 in a row to be mounted to the top edge of your keyboard.
Beyond that there are USB devices that accept 4 to 16 (or more) contact closures.
But I have not seen any USB programmable single button device. The closest might be USB "foot pedal" switches. There simply isn't any demand.
