ODBC connection - what am I missing?
Hi everyone,
I don't know if anyone here can help but we have no IT support and I've tried everything I know to do. Please note: I am not a programmer - I know just enough VBA to get in trouble
I have an app with a vb front and access back-end that was converted to a SQL server at ACS last year. We have since lost ACS as our provider due to bankruptcy, so I'm trying to reconnect the app to the access db. I loaded the tables in the original database in the original location, uninstalled the SQL version and used the archived instructions and install files to re-install the app. I changed the system DSN to MS Access Driver and pointed it to the Access db, but I get an "ODBC-call fail" error when I try to start it.
I also got VB 2008 Express and poked through the files a bit, but can't see anything that points to the target db location. Is there something I'm missing here? Something that would seem incredibly easy to someone who knows what they're doing, but we clueless people would never know to do? Any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated
thanks, Barb
