"Good" and "Free" are rarely synonymous.

    I did find this: http://www.freereporting.com/

Scroll down the page to "What Can You Do with Logi Report?"

    Hi Adshocker,

I'll throw in my .02, if you are looking for a web only based solution (no desktop install), I would check out http://www.izenda.com. We evaluated logixml and izenda for possible integration into our SaaS product. Most of the other competitors (component art, intellicus, etc) are widgets and not platforms per-se, we needed something more robust.

    Cheers!

Indeed! However Pentaho Reporting is one of those rarities.
It is an open source so it's "free" (well, sort of) but it is a phenomenal tool for the price.
Not sure if it intergrates with VS (we use it for different purpose) but it's definitely worth to try.

    thanks all... i

someone suggested that i try Jasper Reports but didn't work out so i'm scouting for other tools.

've been looking into these bit by bit and they all seem to satisfy my needs. right now i'm focusing on Logi Report and see what it does.

We are using Intellicus... rather recently migrated from crystal reports.
It is not a wid get, it is a complete reporting platform....

Our end user response has been great to their self serve kind of ad hoc reporting. Our staff now does scheduled email from report server - earlier mailing manual.

It is one app that does everything easy to manage for IT.
Not sure of Price but is flexible according to use...

end users perspective, - its easy to use.

btw: it wont work with vs .. who cares .. their studio runs on browser!
