Tricky one this. I use MCISendString a lot to play MPEG files. I need to be able to play from any frame and do this using ("Play Video from xxxx") where xxxx is the frame number. The problem is it takes ages to start the video. The larger the frame number, the longer it takes. If I start at 0 the mpeg starts very quickly. If I start at frame 10000 it takes over 10 seconds to start the video. I've tried ("seek video to xxxx") and it's even worse. Is it me or is this a bug in Windows. If anyone can answer this I'll be very grateful. I'm using VB4-32 bit and can't upgrade. This is because I need my programs to run from CD on any PC without an install and I've cracked it in VB4 but can't in VB6.
