    Very old stuff

    I was trying to find an old old thread I started long long ago but it turned out only my last 500 posts were available. Are very old posts deleted or what?

    No, the Search features of this site are limited to 500 results (any more slows down the site, and isn't particularly useful anyway).

    You should use the Advanced Search, specifying your username and things like words to search for and/or an apt date range.
