attaching a program to a file

i was wondering how would someone attach a program to a file, then when the file is opened the program would be opened too.

I Could Not Understand Your Question clearly. But I Think I Got A Bleak Idea Of Your Problem.

The Trick Is To Register The File Type. For Instance If The File Has An Extension Of HTML, "Opening" It Automatically Opens IE.

File Types can also be registered thru VB Code.
