Buzby,

I'll download a free 15 day ScreenCam trial fom Lotus site right now.
It's a bit of pain to use? I'm afraid, but happy! :-)

Thanks a lot,
Roselene

Hi, people!

I’d like to know if it’s possible to create an "animate" demo for my little VB System. I have heard that there’s a software that you can use to "record" the operations you do while using the system in a file and after that run this file in order to show it as an animate demo sequence. Have you ever heard such a thing?

Any ideas on how to do a nice demo would be really appreciate!

Thanks,
Roselene

I think you're thinking of Lotus ScreenCam - go to www.Lotus.com (http://www.Lotus.com) and search for ScreenCam for more details.
It's a bit of a pain to use but for simple animated demos it should be ok.

The problem with ScreenCam (unless you buy the expensive 'executive' version) is that you have to do everything in 'one take' - you can't edit the movies after you have made them.
When I had to do a demo of one of my programs I tried various things but in the end used MS PowerPoint '97 - a) you can do simple animations and use screenshots to make it look like you program is running, b) you can distribute it to anyone with the free PowerPoint viewer (Downloaded from www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com) -the one you get on the MS Office CD is the old version), c) you can make the demos look really good and be more interactive for the user.

Another option is DemoShield

I think you can download a trial version...

Hi,

Thanks Buzby!
Thanks Mark!

I'll give a try for both ScreenCam (if I can download it, it's been hard so far) and Demoshield, cause I am curious to know how these softwares work. In case I am not able to achieve my target with any of them, I'll try Power Point.

Folks, you're great!
