Well at least some good seems to have come from China's disasterous quake. It's a chance to strengthen ties with Japan, and maybe simmer down one of the most deeply routed fueds between countries in the world.

Disagree......Feud is between West and China.
Chinese is SO NOT anti-Western (treat us really good here), but looking at CNN, listen to news taking the sides of the slave driving monks, not a good word about the most awesome Olympic opening ever seen by man, not a word by China's AMAZING Olympic performance......
No dude...Japan are cool. There's a cold war on again, and you are blinded by CNN and BBC.

Oh, okay then. Silly me for thinking that there's still bad blood between China and Japan for the rape of Nanking. Obviously, that's all tish-tosh and forgotten....

Slave driving monks? Even if it's true, Tibet is different now. That history is used as a tool of propaganda by the Communists to justify a police state and censorship of speech, which already lacking in China, is even more suppressed and dangerous in Tibet I'm sure.
I'm Chinese, so I don't believe in seperatism, but I do believe the Dhalai Lama should be allowed to return to Tibet, and peopleshould be allowed to follow him. More free speech, freedom of religion as long as there is no violence and no discrimination against Han Chinese in Tibet.
I don't believe in seperatism outside of threat of genocide, because if the seperatists are always supported, then where does it end? The world will be fractured into tiny countries, the squabaling and fighting would increase even more.
