Silverlight video in-line?
Hi
Any chance of having a tag that streams a silverlight video in-line in a post or thread? I think it'd be a great addition...
Thanks
Duncan

And what would this video contain?
Are you perhaps talking about something like this for our tutorial section?

Something a bit like this?
(Only I will buy a better mic because the quality on the current one is truely poor)

Re: Silverlight video in-line?
I believe if any videos were to be allowed, it'd be flash first as that's more popular. Everyone in the industry, AFAIK, are using the wait and watch approach for Silverlight.

Re: Silverlight video in-line?
Sounds sensible - I'm using silverlight because you get 10Gb free space on MS servers to host the files on but I'm sure there are Flash equivalents
(I don't think putting the videos on Jupitermedia's servers would be a good idea though?)

This is something only Brad or Joe could comment on, but I suspect not.
A link to the video on your hosting server would probably be the preferred way to go.

The problem with any kind of video embedding, the content and security issues are not manageable for use on a site like this.

The security issues are the problem with embedded video. I actually created a tag for embedding YouTube videos but removed it due to the security holes. Having something that plays Silverlight would open up similar security risks. It is something, however, that I'll continue to look into as I am personally interested in Silverlight.

Your mic isn't that bad. You simply need to make sure you don't have it too close to your mouth so you don't get the sound pops on "p"s and "t"s and such.
As an FYI, I'm currently commissioning just a few videos on developer topics for www.Internet.com/video. I am acquiring all the developer related videos. Take a look at some of the developer videos there. Feel free to suggest developer topics if you want to do a video for that site (That site pays a small amount of money for accepted and published videos). No VB6 topics, but I am open to nearly any current developer topic. (Length 3 to 6 minutes as a stand-alone video).
If interested, email me.
Brad!
