    VB 6 in Windows Vista

    Dear All,

Has anyone of you ever try to install the VB 6 Compiler in Windows Vista (both 32 bits or 64 bits versions) ?

Or try to deploy a VB 6 application (from an other PC, and it's O/S is XP or Windows 2000) to Windows Vista ?

Are any there problems ? If so I need to join the MCSD classes to learn VB.Net .

Thank you for your kind attentions.

    Best Regards,

    Teddy.

If one knows what you are doing they won't have many issues if any.

I can't even run the installer.
First the "Program Compatibility Assistant" pops up saying that the program has known problems, but I click "Run Program" anyway.
When it's about to start "NTVDM.EXE" crashes.
Half a minute later another window pops up saying "Couldn't find Acme setup".

What can I do about this? I'm running Vista SP1 x86.

I have one user with Vista. He runs our VB6 app with no issues so far.

    I'm running Vista Home.

    VB6 installed correctly.

Then my problem might be due to SP1.
Or could it be something else? My windows installation is pretty clean...

Re: VB 6 in Windows Vista

I got around the problem by running /SETUP/ACMSETUP.EXE instead.
I had to move around a couple of things to make the relative paths correct, and I also had to change the name of one file as well.
    Now it works perfectly!

Delete it. They just clutter threads anyway.
