[2008] Changing project installer version

I try to change my project installer's version, but it says, if you change the version, you must (or should) change your product code, do you want to do that?

What would happen if my product code changed?

The product code is used to identify different versions of the same product, while the upgrade code is used to identify the product itself. If you install your product once, then change the version number and product code, then install again, the system is able to identify that you're installing a new version of the same product. It is then able to uninstall the old version automatically if you have configured your installer to do so.
