Resolved [RESOLVED] .NET on both Symbian and Windows Mobile?

    Hi there!

My boss asked me if I could develop a C# application that could be downloaded via SMS from both a Nokia S60 (Symbian) and the Windows Mobile phones.

I have done very little work on the mobile development area, so I post my question here on this forum. When I read cross platform I always think Java, which isn't my cup of tea.

The app itself should be fairly advanced, so it isn't enough that it can run on both phones, it need to access all the advanced gadgets on the phone OS itself.. like checking battery etc etc.

    What does the experts say?

    kind regards
    Henrik

Symbian doesnt support the .Net framework, only windows mobile devices do.
You'll have to use C++ or Java if you want to develop for an S60 device, unfortunately.

    Okay, that figures...

Thanks for the answer, now I can decide that this project is not for me. If Symbian supported .NET then it should be fairly easy to learn the API, its not so quick and easy to learn Java instead hehe.

    kind regards
