API guide to vb .net?

It is any API guide download to VB .net (2008) ?!?

I got a API guide to VB 6 that me and my friend tested yesterday,

we looked fast in code and looked what we needed, then pasted in the code and watched what happened xD

1 code makes that when my friend got minimazed windows, then when hw open it, he see fast red lines how do we fix that?

also, the problem is that my friend, just took a code, looked if he need any buttons or something, then he just run the program and looked whats happened

Cuz my friend want know codes to a program he wanna do, its gonna show information about the computer, like how warm the computer are, the cards ETC!..



but how about the API guides to VB .net (2008) (does not care so much if its 2005 or 2008, they got not so differents codes?)

Just set the setting for VB.NETlanguage on the API Viewer utility.

Also, i've seen that its VB .net in API guide, but when i click it. then its not showing any tip!, also i haven't find any codes/tips in VB .net in that API..

I dont know what version i got, (cuz im in school now)

If you downloaded the API Viewer from the link in my signature it will take you to the latest and greatest. I think the database latest version is 8.8.2004.

The examples and code use is practically the same in vb.net but there are some apis which wouldnt be needed as there are replacements for them in pure .net code.

Click on the databases link and then download and install the most recent/up-to-date version

Everything you need is in the link in my signature. The links Paul posted are from that same page. Just download 3.10 of the viewer and the databasae is the one that says 15.4.2004 but its actually 8.8.2004 (newer). They just didnt change their links label.

15.4.04 is the date of the default database by the way. They just were lazy to change it anyway. All you have to do is unzip it and overwrite the one in the folder. It should be extracted to..

C:\Program Files\ApiViewer 2004

Yes, either too lazy or just not paying attention to their site.

There is also pininvoke.net but its mostly useless as almost every lookup I do takes me to their site and pukes back saying nothing on file or such.

The only reason i like pinvoke.net is because it supplies the user with an example as well as the definition. But yea API really isn't overly difficult anyway.

But I have also found that most of their stuff is incomplete. Even the definitions are incomplete. I think its more of a wiki style site.

Its much easier to have something locally. If you really need an example you can alsways search VBF

LoL how!? do i need to do it home then? so i can't look up the codes at school!? cuz i can't save anything in program filess i think, unless if i dont go into "system" user thing..

Well if your restricted at school you should try just using pinvoke.net otherwise try installing it on a flash drive and running it off that.

Thats a entirely different utility. I would use the Api Viewer 2004 over it
