opening files

Well in VB if u open a file it seems REALLY slow on bigger files so is there a faster way to load files? I have a hex editor is loads 3 meg files in 5 seconds. What's up with that?
K anyone know? Tell me!

I know there are api file manupalations.
Try to read the book 'Visual Basic 6 win32 api tutorial'. In this book are alot of api call to open file. and what you can do with it..
