What to Do?
I have a project that I'm working on just now, the process requires a file to be sent to field agents, they then import this to an application and carry out their work. Once this is complete they then send the updated data back to the office.
I was looking at using XML for this; unfortunately I have no experience of using XML and don't have the time to learn how to at this point in time so I am using CSV files.
The question I would like to ask is on the client application (field agents laptop) should I just update the CSV file with the output from what they add during their daily work? Or should I use Access for the data manipulation, as this is my area of expertise? The problem I have is they do not have access runtime installed on the PC and I would have to raise a request via my IT dept to get the done and it may incur a cost.
I'm Using VB6
Regards
David

Re: What to Do?
My suggestion would be using Access, however, it your company is going to lose its lunch over the cost (and I'm sure there would be a licensing cost, although you may want to verify that for user), then I'm guessing your best alternative would be the CSV route.
