COM on 64-bit
Hi, I got this error in my asp.net application on a 64-bit server:
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {60434CC1-132A-11D5-B14F-00C04F79D784} failed due to the following error: 80040154.
This happens the first time an object is instantiated using the COM.
Looking at the windows registry, the class id referenced here is the one in the wow6432node for 32-bit applications. There is another class id for the same COM in the parent software node, but it's apparently not accessing that one.
I have the asp.net application in Visual Studio 2005, and the server has the .Net framework 2.0 for x64. IIS is running on windows server 2003 in 64-bit mode.
other than accessing this COM object, the asp.net code runs well.
Any idea what's happening and how to resolve?
Thanks for any help!
