[RESOLVED] SQL 2005 Browser Utility
Hi,
I have Visual Studio 2005 Pro and SQL Sever 2005 Developer Edition. I know about the database utility in VS but I was wondering if there was a stand along utility for browsing and manipulating .mdf files?
Thanks

Re: SQL 2005 Browser Utility
You can get SQL Server Management Studio, either the full version which should be on your Developer Edition disk, or the free Express version which can be downloaded from MS (link to the download in the SQL Server 2005 thread at the top of our Database Development forum).

Re: SQL 2005 Browser Utility
I couldn't find it on my install disk, do you know where it's located or have a name I can search for?

Re: SQL 2005 Browser Utility
It should have be one of the options when you installed (perhaps "Management Tools")... if not try running the setup again, or a setup within the Tools folder of the disk.
I've got an MSDN version of the SQL Server disk (with several editions on it, including Developer), and it seems to be in the folder \ENGLISH\SQL2005\DEVELOPER\SQL Server x86\Tools , so for you it is probably just \Tools (I can't do a test install unfortunately, as I have other versions on this PC that I need to keep working).
If you can't find it, the Express version will work, but with fewer features.
