Why do you always "go against the grain" with everyone?
why is that?
[/quote]

Because if I don't who will? This is not a specious
statement. History is rife with those who "went against
the grain".

Rosa Parks, Mother Jones, John Brown, Guy Fawkes,
Socrates......

It is very easy for me to attempt to bring a modicum of
thought to the some of the more radio cliched
pronouncements on this forum. It means very little, there
is no danger, and you don't even know my name! It keeps me
in practice for the time when I might have to stand again
opposing those whose positions I despise.

No, TD, it's not a challenge. What my name is wouldn't be
much of challenge, even for me. The statement meant
exactly what it says: There is no physical danger for my
actions. There might be some emotional danger (of
embarrasment, mostly) but I've lived with worse.

You dedicated an entire post too lil ole me :)!!

I understand your point about these people going against the grain ..

"Rosa Parks, Mother Jones, John Brown, Guy Fawkes,
Socrates......"

All these people were actually arguing a real point.. a belief they had...do you consider yourself too be just like one of these people?? are you on a mission of some kind? ..too clean up vb-world.net for the greater good of humanity? is the fact that people have an opinion on things in the world bothering you?? this is just a website.. you dont have too argue EVERYONE'S point here..
or next time someone here on vb-world.net decides to have an opinion, do we call *Derfarm and the correctness police"?

But this just like you said..this

"It means very little, there is no danger, and you don't even know my name!"

No ****? Thanks for clearing that up for me Farm, i thought we were talking face to face ;) i was ready to punch you in the jaw... oh wait a min..this is just a website..damn i have to start to remember that this isnt actually contact with people ,hehe j/k :)

in other words..dont be such a dick. if people have an opinion...FINE! let them be.. geez.

Get a life Sophtware.

As far as allowing others to have their own opinion, I
don't believe I have ever shoved a gun in someone's mouth
and forced a recantation. Do you consider trying to make
other people think about what they are saying is wrong? If
so, you'd better go back to Socrates. That's why he was
forced to commit suicide...with hemlock...except that you
probably didn't know that.

Do I believe that I am one of those? Not now. But, yes, I
was once one of those. I did put it all on the line, more
than once.

Have you?

You should be a comedian, Farm..

And your poor excuse at insulting me just because i dont know anything about socrates is even funnier than you telling me i need to get a life...

And you have put it all on the line? what did you do?? and who gives a ****? ;)

But i guess it is good to think of yourself as a great person..because no one else is going to think you are a great person Farm. :)

You have convinced yourself that you are great... now you have too convince the rest of the world.

I have put many things in my life on the line..many times..and most of the time i lost... but sometimes i actually come out on top.Like the old saying goes...you cant win them all... but i wont be surprised if you argue that point with me too farm.
