Do we?

If XML is eXtensive Markup Language, then i dont think we do. Its extremly easy, and any questions on it could go into the html forum.

I don't believe this...

You Say XML is ....just 'Extensible Markup Language'
and Vetoing the creation of an XML forum.

Man...I really feel bad about being ahead of time than
my contemporaries.

BY the Way...
XML questions..should not go in to html forum...
only HTML questions should go in to a XML forum

b'cos XML is the Mother of HTML

HTML is *just* a Subset of XML..

Heard about XHTML ????

Search 'XML applications' on a search engine...
Spend atleast 20 or so minutes in the resulting websites..
and then come back....If you then say NO !.. I Will agree.

I'm going to have to disagree here - XML is not a superset of HTML. XML is for defining layout, and it is supposed to be used along with XHTML, for defining content, and XSL, for defining styles. HTML mixes all three into one, and has the addition of CSS style sheets for defining style. Neither is the mother of either, but XML/XHTML/XSL is a far better way to go about things.

XML is just a very strict, simplified form of SGML, which is itself quite complicated. The formal definition of SGML is hundreds of pages long, whereas the formal definition of XML/XHTML is only a few pages.

Anyway, I think an XML forum isn't such a bad idea, but the complicated part of XML as I understand it is using software to read the DTDs and such of XML documents. I'm not entirely sure about it all, but it's bigger than just a new kind of markup language.

XML Forum sounds like a good ides to me, tho i'm not sure it warrants it's own forum. It should be combined with something else.

XML is an excellent self describing data format, and is a cheap method which can be used in certain distributed environments.

G.K, have you checked this link. You might find it usefull sometime ;-)

That will do for now until XML gets enough traffic to warrant its own forum.
