I want to use WebBrowser control in visual basic to make my own browser. And now here is the problem: I want to add option "Use a proxy server" which means that the user will enter his proxy server and port and the WebBrowser control will work with proxy.

    Could anybody help me??

p.s.: sorry for my language, i don't speak english very well.

    thnx

won't the webbrowser use the same settings as Internet Explorer? If that is set up for automatic detection of proxy settings, shouldn't that in turn take care of the webbrowser control? I've never had a problem with proxy servers and used the webbrowser control quite a few times.

I'd switch this thread over to the general section to get more of a response.

    Thumbs up

    Thanks Kira,

I've used the webbrowser in my application and it worked fabulously,
until the portsetting of the webser changed from 80 to 1033.

I don't know what this setting does,
but my webbrowser can't get connected any more.

I think I have to set my browser to listen to port 1033.

Do you know is that's correct?

Or do you know how I can find a beginners explanation for webbrowser port connections?

    Thanks,

    Fedor

By the way, thanks for your suggestion to move this thread (I just searched and replieded withou looking at the section)
