Music and Wav together

Hi!

I've been creating a vb game here and I have a problem.
When I put the API calls for the Midi and Wav sound thogether, the midi seemed to cut off the wav sound.
Why? How can I Place them together and get a merge sound effect?

you might be able to use the Windows Media Player control to play the midi, and just play the wav with API, since they should play through the driver in different channels, but... the media player is a big, heavyweight "control of darkness" *sigh*

I Tried every thing but it's still all the same. Any More suggestion?
