The world has not been the same since Benny Hill left us. A couple of weeks ago Adam and Jim (from Comedy Central's Man Show) did a nice tribute to him. It was funny as hell.

I'm in the USA but i'm a big fan of British humor, not alot of it to really be found on TV here though, Meaning ofLife was good, of course the best ever was Holy Grail

I missed that episode of The Man Show unfortunately, Benny Hill was one of the best ever

Do ever get to see reruns of The Young Ones in the UK? MTV (when they used to play music videos) ran that show once in a while. I wasn't as Classic as Monty Python or Benny Hill, but it was worth a couple of laughs.

I don't really see the appeal of Benny Hill myself. The Young Ones was a classic show, we get it rerun every now and again. My nickname is from The Young Ones (and later, Bottom) - Harry The Bastard.

I remember using punched cards and computers with magnetic drums for main memory.

I also remember non-digital clocks and watches. My girl-friend's grandson told his parents he wanted Guv to answer a scientific question. When they wanted more details, he said it was too scientific for them to answer, he would wait for Guv and Gloria to visit.

The question was "What does clockwise mean?" The kid had a digital watch and could tell time. Neither his home nor any of his friends' modern homes had a clock with hands. He had seen clocks with hands in school and elsewhere, but he did not know that they were clocks.

When his father heard the question, he was philosophical about the situation, saying, "I never claimed to be a research physicist, what can I be expected to know about clocks?"

not that it's ever happened to me i've just heard that that kind of thing goes on alot nowadays, i wear a tinfoil hat so i don't need to worry about it.
