Generally there are two types of hosting.
Unix and windows. A unix host will typically support PHP and MySQL only, whereas, a windows host will support ASP and SQL Server.
It is uncommon for a single account to support both. Most good hosting companies will provide both types of hosting.
I must point out that although it is not impossible to support both styles on the same server, it is not usually the case.
If you reply stating where abouts in the world you are we can probably point out some hosting companies for you.

Re: Site supported Language and DB
one thing to note:
javascript, vbscript and JScript are browser languages. they have nothing to do with web hosting.
the hosting probably provides site utilities
my answer to your second question:
as Slaine stated PHP & MySQL and ASP & SQLserver go paired most often. it does not matter which one you use; it's more a question of preference and i prefer php.
to my knowledge, php is used more frequent than asp
Delete it. They just clutter threads anyway.
