Fisrt hour of the
First day of the
First month of the
First year of the
First decade of the
First century of the
Second Millenium (ouch! Flawed)
It's really the start of the third millennium. Start of 1 - end of 1000 was the first, start of 1001 - end of 2000 was the second, and the start of 2001 is the third millennium.

Am I the only one that finds the "2000 was the millenium", "Wasn't", "Was", "Wasn't" etc. pantomime just a LITTLE tedious? New Year's day is only January 1 by convention and that certainly was not the case in BC1, AD1. Since Jesus was almost certianly born around 4-6 BC it is all a bit artificial anyway.
Bah Humbug.
Cheers,
P.
