Thumbs up How about an updated Beginners ADO.NET Code tutorial?

It would be really nice if someone (like si_the_geek) would write a small, simple, updated code tutorial on ADO.NET like the one that Beacon wrote for ADO here:

    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=153935

    with this info included:
    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=416225

Just some basic setup and framework to help people get started. The one Beacon wrote, plus the extra info from Si was great for ADO, but we need a new version fro ADO.NET and make it a sticky!

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!?!

Re: How about an updated Beginners ADO.NET Code tutorial?

I can't do it myself (lack of .Net experience, and far too little time at the moment!), but it would be a great addition to our FAQ's.

Hopefully somebody will be able to write a tutorial (even something 'simple' would be good), as many people are asking for advice about it.

I take a stab at it. I am almost finished with my PHP on Vista IIS 7.0 FAQ

Ps, mostly thanks to Penagate for the help figuring out the php configuration.

I'll write a Beacon style ADO.NET tutorial for beginners. I always thought one existed due to the simplicity. And then again, there were always quickstarts.

    Great work.

I've added a link to it in the Database FAQs.
