Can I search about a DSN to know if it already exists or not and if not how can I create one from the code (RDO).

Frankly, I won't be of much help, but just thought you could use some clues.

I had an old edition of a book named 'Building Client-Server Applications using VB 5.0' which used RDO extensively, and described how some API function could be used to create a DSN. If you can get your hands on a copy of this book, or an updated one for VB 6.0, you can find out how it creates a DSN through code.

Or check out the API section, although I doubt if they will know about this one. ODBC is so old ....
