Thread: Lost Project Container Window - can see desktop in VB

    Somehow I have lost my Project Container Window (the window around the Form window) and now I can see my desktop peeking through. How do I change it?

    btw, if I close my project, properties, form layout windows and the toolbox, then it looks as if VB only takes up a small portion of the top of my screem, with the desktop showing through.

    This happens to me all the time . Just right click on your Project in the Taskbar and click Restore.

    That wasn't what I meant, I know I can find it on my taskbar, I'm talking about being IN vb and being able to see the Desktop icons THROUGH the VB program as though VB has suddenly become transparent.

    If I have the windows, eg properties, project, form layout and the toolbar closed, then I can SEE the icons on my desktop. Its as though VB has shrunk somehow and I'm only able to see the Menu Bar.

    Also

    Just to make sure...try going into
    Tools->options->Advanced tab

    make sure that SDI Development..etc is NOT Checked

    (If so...uncheck it then restart VB)

    I know exactly what you are talking about. I was just offering a suggestion as to how I fix it when the same thing happens to me, try it and should fix the problem.

    SDI was checked, thanks!

    I tried the other option and the "restore" is not an option, its greyed out. I'm not talking about loosing my VB window because I have other windows open. I'm talking about having VB open, being IN VB, programming in it AND being able to see the desktop at the same time.

    Thumbs up

    If restore isn't an option then maximize, then restore
