CD Duplication

Hi folks !!!! I have a small bottleneck to overcome.
The problem goes as such :

* Each CD manufacturer provides a SERIAL NUMBER which can
be accessed any development too. Right ? How is this
number generated ?
* Suppose I copy a CD (diskcopy/mirror the CD using one
of the available softwares for this) to another CD using
two CD drives, will the SERIAL NUMBER of the source
disk be copied as it is to the destination disk ?

The Serial Number is generated according to the operating System. Unlike the Volume Label, it was thought up back in the DOS days for Military purposes to keep certain disks confidentual as well as to see if it had been rampered with. But since more and more CD and Floppy Duplicators have come out, copying the Serial Number, there has been NO real use for it. It's another one of those EXTRA things that MS didnt' clean up.

Yes, the Serial Number will be copied over just like the Volume Label can/will be.

I just burned quake3 for a buddy and when i was installing it in his computer .. the serial number was already in the burned copy. :)
