How much to charge for a program
Hey guys I need your help because I have been making free programs for a little while. And I would like to ask, how does one find out how much to price for a program?
I recently made a program that helps you with homework and I charge 4.99 Can. I have seen programs on download.com cost up to 60$?!?!!
Basically the 4.99 unlocks more option in the programs and gives access to live help, but I dunno if 4.99 is too much or not enough.
How would you price a program.????

Re: How much to charge for a program
If its a one time fee then its way too low. Now if its a per incident then thats a good decent price. If you get allot of students requesting help then your $ goes up by the volume you do.

I see your point, se I'm new to this "selling" game and I'm just waned to get my software around and get more people as time goes on and I thought lower prices may help, but I do see what you mean.

Re: How much to charge for a program
What you could also do is market it as "on sale" with it free but only so many calls at $4.99. Then when you get it out there enough you can terminate the promotional period and bump up the price. This way they know its not the regular price and you wont be locked in at a low rate.
