    Diet anyone?

    Hi,

I am at the last stages of a diet and nutrition program and I have an original proposition for some of you (maybe not that original).

Download this program at a link I will send to you, unzip it, and install it. If you find at least two reproducible bugs, send the details to me (what happened and when did it happen) and I will send you the fixed version of the program as well as the code for unlocking it.

The program will be yours to keep (a $25.00 value). If you are interested please send me a private message and I will return the message with another one containing the link to the download.
(I am restricting this offer to the first 25 takers).

What does this have to do with 'VB forums'? The entire program is written in VB6, perhaps you can see what can be done with this *obsolete* language.

    Thanks,

    Re: Attention debuggers and hobbyists

I can understand your thinking people will rush to a free gift, even if it means some debugging, but frankly, it might be somewhat better if you were to describe something about what that free gift does.

Oops, I misunderstood your first sentence. HA!! the program is a diet and nutrition program. I read it as YOU were on a diet and nutrition program, the last stages of which are either death, or that point when you baloon back to your original weight.

You might search around this forum for "Snake Game". People here might be hesitant to beta test your program....or maybe that was so long ago most people have forgotten.

Hi, if they dont find two reproducible bugs, do they still get to keep it?
Id just give out a Beta Program, limit it for X amount of weeks/months, wait for bugs to come in, then when enough have been reported and your fixes seem to have fixed them, release a full version and charge them .. the beta testers ofcourse getting either a free or discounted price.

also have the errors produce a report that they can easily access, or even go as far as maybe producing a "Send to Developer" box that sends the exact errors to you via a web server or email; while they only see the basic Error.

Just a thought .. i do need to go on a diet though for real ..

    Thanks!
Feedback would also be included in the offer to keep the software free.
