If you have more than one device set to synchronize with a single computer how is the file structure on that single computer handled?

Does ActiveSync
1) Place the files from all devices into one WM_Folder; or,
2) Create a different WM_Folder for each device

I've been searching for two days and can't find the info anywhere!

It's not a common situation. However, you have the means to tell us the answer. I think a test is in order.

Yeh, but I wasn't interested in fodlers I wanted to know about folders. :p

and i meant to add to that when you create partnerships with the devices...
the latest activesync allow multiple partnerships with devices.

Thanks again.

I'm not sure what you are refering to concerning the device name. Is that a setting on the Device itself, or a setting choice in ActiveSync on the host computer?

on the device itself there is an option in the control panel to set the device name...
so when the device is docked it will show the device name you gave it in activesync

Ok I'll check it out.
About this thread starting question:

Apparently a new folder is created for each device that is sycronized with the host computer.
I was repeatedly deploying my app to my device and just to make sure I had no conflicts I hard reset the device each time.
After a few rounds I noticed that my laptop had mutiple WM_whatever folders on the desktop.
Apparently each time I hard reset the device my computer thought it was another device.

So there we have it!
