It is amazing how sick people, wound ones, handicapped, etc., seize, cling, stick themselves to life. It must not only be fear of death. It must be something deeper.

When I was a teenager, my father told me that I would spend a lot of my time earning a living.

He said "Find a hobby that somebody will pay you to pursue."

In prehistoric times, I discovered that I enjoyed computers and writing programs. When the bureaucrats took control of the mainframe world about ten years ago, my hobby became a job.

I hated having a job, so I retired even though I could not afford it. Now I pursue my hobby on a PC.

The secret to enjoying life is to do things you want to do, and avoid activities/people you do not like.
