When I go to Google and type something in the seach box will drop down and display all entries that are related to what I'm currently entering. It is an "auto typeahead" kind of thing.
How do I clear that out so that there isn't anything there, and set up my browser so it doesn't record that anymore?
I'm using IE7.

Did you try clearing your browsing history? Tools > Internet Options > browsing history > delete ...

Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete... -> Clear Forms
And de-select the 'Forms' check box.

Nope, as by default the checkbox is unchecked.
Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete... > Settings button > uncheck "Forms".
That will turn off autocomplete for any forms but will not clear it if you turn it back on. You will need to delete the history in order to remove any typed addresses.

I assumed it must have become checked at some point. Otherwise it wouldn't happen.

But still if its rechecked again it will show all the previous stuff. ;)

That's why you click 'Clear Forms'.

Remember this is for IE 7, or at least my RTM version does not have a "Clear Forms" button.

But you can go to ...
Tools > Delete Browsing History... > Forms Data > Delete Forms data.
