Will the getsetting and savesetting of the VB work with Win’2000.if not any alternative to that?

Well, I think it should work in Win2K, because bot the GetSetting and SaveSetting store the data as REG_SZ data type, which are the same in both Win9x, WinNT and Win2K platform.
