Programmer / Analyst

Permanent Position (6mth contract to hire)

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
*Client will not sponser H1B visa - Candidates must me authorized to work in US for any employer

A. Position requires experience with Microsoft Development Environment and Tools

B. Position requires proven analytical and design skills and prior experience in all facets of the systems development life cycle of client/server application.
· Systems Planning

· Systems Design

· Systems Implementation

· Software Selection and Implementation

· Production Systems Support



C. Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

D. Position requires B.A. or B.S. degree from a major university in computer information systems, computer science or related field or equivalent experience.

E. Position requires a minimum of 7- 9 years experience in Information Technology services functions with a track record of steady increase in responsibility.

F. Prior experience in the following areas is desired:

· Experience with Microsoft Web based application development

· Experience with Visual Interdev

· Experience with VBScript, VB.Net

· Experience with XML/XSL

· Experience with relational databases, preferably with SQL/Server



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



· Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and designs computer programs, systems and related procedures to meet identified business requirements.

· Monitors application performance and identifies appropriate course of action.

· Identifies functional and/or technical issues within application or technical environment, recommends alternatives and appropriate resolution.

· Prepares cost estimates and projects timelines for completing recommended solutions.

· Provides input to project planning activities and business case development for new IT initiatives.

· Communicates application and project status, identifying potential opportunities or issues.

· Develops and/or implements technical changes within application, utilizing corporate application methodology and change-management procedures.

· Prepares detailed program specifications and coordinates the system's installation with the user department, insuring satisfactory results.

· Evaluates and designs existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases.

· Analyzes data base requirements of the user department, applications programming and operations.

· Possesses and applies to the solution of programming problems a comprehensive knowledge of data base operations.

· Contributes considerable evaluation, originality and ingenuity to work.

· Assists and provides technical support wherever needed.

· Directs and coordinates work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs.

· Maintains considerable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.

· Performs or leads small teams in the selection and implantation of packaged software solutions.
