We have had this issue about 1.5 years ago where the vbwire ad doesnt respond during a page load and this causes the page to hang with nothing but a blue background.

Sems this is happening again (last years attachment).

Yea, I see this happen but not too often - once/twice a month or so. Some times it causes slowness but not consistently.

Its been happening allot today and off and on for the past few days at least for me.

Yes, just happened again right now. 10:09 am PST and also got a DNS error not related to my internet connection as I was able to get google.com..

Yes, I have been getting it once in a while recently but today is terrible. Almost every single page request from the server is returning with no news and making browsing very painful :( Been happening for almost an hour straight now too.

More issues today. No News and no Big Ad at the top right corner causing the page to hang for 30-60 seconds.

The hang is likely the servers trying to find the news and the big ad.... ;)

There should never be a time when there is no news, so something screwy is happening with that load. I would suggest hitting the refresh button if you see the main page load without the news. (Unless you have a blocker of some sort running, in which case, all bets are off).

I'll point this out to some others again and see if there is anything more that could be going on.

No blockers or keyword restrictions, tried refreshing too, and seems to happen for a time during a day and then nothing for a while. Maybe its a particular Wire news feed?

Our developers are looking into this. What they've asked for is to get the date and time when this happens again.

So, when this happens again, post those. :)

Ok, it happened just before post #10 minus the time needed to create a snapshot/edit it/post. :D

Next time I will note the exact time and date in the post. Hopefully will not be very soon. ;)

Another No News/Ad

12/8/2007 @ 1:25 on my system time.

12/8/2007 @ 1:32 again but refresh worked this time.
