cool, I just had a tumbleweed go across my screen, must be because it's so quite in here today

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 07:42 AM
Well, you posted when it was 6:20 in my timezone. I wasn't even out of bed yet.

Ianpbaker
Dec 8th, 2000, 08:07 AM
and i've just got back from lunch

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 08:09 AM
I wish I was just getting back from lunch.....(sigh)

I take it you've just started for the day. the downside is that at 5.00 i've got a 6 hour car journey to get home

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 09:01 AM
It's only 9:00 here. I don't get off until 4:00. Then I have to drive the whole 15 minutes home. (And I live in another town than the one I work in.)

Ianpbaker

as you can probably tell, i'm working away from home at the moment

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 09:05 AM
Do you have to drive six hours everyday, or are you doing the 'go home on the weekend' thing?

Ianpbaker
Dec 8th, 2000, 09:06 AM
I would be mad to do that every day. I come up on the sunday night, stay in a b&b and come home friday's after work

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 09:09 AM
I wouldn't like to do that. I would miss my son too much. My fiance does travel for his job, but that is only once or twice a year, and only for a week or two. So, he's not gone too much.

I'm a contractor so I have to go around the place. the thing is that I quite enjot it at the moment. I'm still relatively young(22) and no tie down's at the moment. So I get to travel the country and see new people and places. But most of the time i'm in london, which means commuting on the sodding train every day

You can practically hear the echo in here today. Where is everybody???

smh
Dec 8th, 2000, 09:38 AM
I am only 21, but I do have a fiance and a son (10 months). If I didn't have strings, I would probably be doing the same thing.

smh

Everybody must have taken vacation today. I'm about ready to, because my computer keeps crashing today for no apparent reason. Gonna have to go get the networking techs over here.

Good morning Ian. I thought you were quite funny yesterday, actually. How come you're not down at the pub too?

Dec 8th, 2000, 10:02 AM
Sorry, I couldn't find the good threads because I was
wading through a sea of Batman and WW crap to find it.

So, now I'm here. Wow, you guys are young! *sigh* I
feel so old.... but at least you're old enough to drink!

Too bad I'm not in London, Ian... we could go for a pint.
What's your brew? I tend to go Guinness, Newcastle,
Killians Irish Red, or good ole Sam Adams!!

I'm just sitting here listening to music and getting
some work done. Have to start looking for a new job,
too... :-\

Hey, do you know anything about jobs that list W2 as the job type? Almost all the job sites you go to on the web list this. I've worked for the government for too long I guess because this means nothing to me.

hi katie two reason's why I'm not down the pub - one i'm still at work (got another 1/2 to go) and secondly as I said above, i've got a six hour drive to get home. If your bored and got a map of england around, I've got to get from manchester (in the north west) to hastings (in the south east.

sherm - i'm not in london at the moment, i'm in manchester, and my favorite tibble's are cafferey's, stella, and southern comfort

Dec 8th, 2000, 10:40 AM
Ah yes, Southern Comfort. The South's answer to Cornish
Rock Game Hens. Neither fish, nor fowl and lousy to boot.

Distilled by Yankees for the British.
