CR Licensing Issue
Up until now every client that I have designed VB6 applications that contained CR always had an Enterprise Version of CR which allowed distribution of my app with the CR components installed within the company. My question is that I have a client who whats me to use CR to develop an app but the customer doesn't have a CR license. My question, I have a copy of CR 11 Developer Edition, does my license allow me to distribute my app with the CR Components to a customer without a licensed copy of CR?
Regards,
Mark

Re: CR Licensing Issue
Stop talking to yourself, oh wait ...
In previous versions of CR you could distribute some controls without the receipient having CR licenses. It was my understanding that its only when you distribute parts that allow the program to design or create reports in run time. Is this what you mean or any control in general?

Re: CR Licensing Issue
Yes, my app will be using CR for "canned" reports.

Re: CR Licensing Issue
According to Business Objects, I have possed this question to them. If you want to include canned reports in an application in VB6 you need to have the developer version of CR. If you only have the professional version you are not licenssed to depoly reports to a system with out CR installed on the system. This of course would be mute in .Net since there is a .Net merge module included with the installation of VS that you are allowed to use.

Re: CR Licensing Issue
Ah, its been a while since I was working with 8.5 developer and that makes sense and reminds me. So with the Developer version of CR 11 you should be good.
