temp folders and files
hey all does anyone know any other path of files that are tempary and not important in either windows 2000 or xp ?
i know the following ones
* = xp only (to my knowledge)
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch *
C:\WINDOWS\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Recent
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Cookies
any more ? the reason i'm asking is i'm thinking of making a small cleaning program that cleans those types of files
thanks in advanced

Re: temp folders and files
Windows\System32\dllcache
Not 'temporary' in that sense, but can get very big.

Re: temp folders and files
The decision is totaly yours.
I delete dllcache if it gets big or if I need some free space in my Windows drive. Haven't seen any problem.
You can manually run sfc to restore original copies. Type SFC in command prompt to see its options.
