I just had this idea,
Every 5 threads you'll find one in the wrong place.
So instead of waiting until a mod/admin sees the thread or having to PM them about the thread I think there should be a button to report misplaced threads

The "Report Bad Post" could potentially cover that, one thing to note tho is the response time..

When you report a post an email is sent to the Moderator of that particular forum (as shown on the right of our home page) and the Admins (who dont tend to be around as much as the rest of us). The time it takes to get sorted obviously depends on who reads the email & comes to the forums first, which may be a few days in some cases.

This means that the quickest solution is generally to PM a Super Moderator or Admin who is online (shown at the bottom of our home page in orange/red), as we all have the ability to move/delete threads if needed, and we do not have to wait for the email to arrive.

Doesn't the "Report Bad Post" affect the posting user reputation?

No, it only sends a message as described above (to affect the reputation at all, you have to use "Rate this post", selecing either "I approve" or "I disapprove").

It is not the best method tho, PM's to online mods/admins get a much quicker response.

Would a feature ComputerJy is suggesting be feasible? I mean, Craigslist has a feature that, if enough people click the "report as spam" button, the post gets removed. Now, this could be implemented on the forums but instead of removing the post, it gets moved to another board or a board that a number of reporting users select.

That would take a lot of work in modifying the forum software, which is something we always avoid if possible - as whenever the forum software gets upgraded, we need to re-apply our changes (such as the VBCode tags) which takes time & effort.

It usually only takes a few seconds for a moderator to decide what to do with a misplaced thread (admittedly only after they see it), so I dont think that there would be any noticable gain from something like that anyway.
